YOU CAN HELP!

If these stories have inspired you, and we hope they have, there's any number of things you can do to encourage and support similar efforts, in your community, across the nation, and around the world.

Here are a few suggestions:

Make a donation to an organization featured in these pages or to a similar organization, if its story moves you.

Volunteer help to a local group. Even if you can't afford a cash donation, most local organizations welcome volunteer assistance and in-kind contributions that may range from giving your outdated computer to a job-training program that can use it to teach a homeless person an employable skill to donating an old car to an organization that will repair it and use it to help a welfare-to-work recipient get to the workplace.

Spread the word. Tell your friends and fellow workers about innovate community organizations in your town. Urge your elected representatives to consider these local models as they consider public policy decisions at all levels of government.
